Our 📖Governance: circles & rolesare stored in 🧘♀️Asana. We also tested tools like Glassfrog and Holaspirit but they were not flexible enough at that stage (2015). To make our roles and circles easier to understand and find, we developed a tool that displayed them in a nested diagram.
A snapshot of the Springest circles in Rolest, from 2018.
We called this tool Rolest (although the name was never officialised) and it used to be open for the world to see at roles.springest.com. A backup of that is now hosted here. Its first version was built by Dennis Paagmanduring a 🤓Hack day, with help from Mathijs Blokland for some for the frontend code. Later Mark Mulder helped as well by building a 💬Slack integration for it that would post any governance changes to a channel. That was useful to have as a change log, or to get notified based on keywords / roles / circles you cared about.
The importance of a tool like Rolest is that it dramatically reduced the search cost for everyone in the organisation to find who was accountable for something you wanted to improve.
